Story #8. Sexual Liberation is Sexual Freedom

By Sara Warren | Creator of The Winded Mama

What does it mean to me to be sexually liberated..
Sexual liberation is sexual freedom. You are not bound to any rules and there is no sexual “normalcy.” You are comfortable enough in your own skin to be who you want to be in the bedroom and do what you want to do, whether it be to yourself or your partner (and vice versa), together or alone.

I truly believe that a majority of people today are still “old school” when it comes to sex. When 50 Shades of Grey came out, aw, lawd. Women everywhere were swooning over this Christian Grey fellow and his sexual habits and desires. Women all over the world began breaking the chains and becoming more sexually liberated by opening up their minds and their worlds to a whole new realm of what they wanted behind closed doors. They wanted more than simple missionary.

There are others who weren’t as impressed about the series as others, me being one of those people. There were people like me who were thinking, “What? This is it? This is what all the fuss is about? I’ve been doing this shit for years!” Luckily I was able to open my mind to sexual freedom a long time ago. I’ve never been too backward to be too shy to ask what I wanted, when, where, and why, but I guess that comes from being with a lot of ill experienced men who don’t know what they’re doing in the bedroom and having to demand what you want. Make them beg for you. Give them an appetite for you.

So I challenge all women, especially the ones that may be unhappy in the bedroom, to open their mind, body, soul, and spirit to themselves and whomever they encounter. Break that chain. Break that mold. Break out of whatever is holding you back from that liberation that every woman needs, wants, desires, and more importantly deserves. Sexual liberation can do wonders for your mentality. Take charge of you and what you want.
